The Rex Mill STEM Leadership team consisting of 25 educators experienced a phenomenal leadership retreat at the Clayton County Water Authority’s Newman Wetland Center. The retreat began with a 45 minute hike/tour led by Danielle Bunch, Senior Conservation Specialist. Ms. Bunch taught the group valuable lessons about the many plants and animals living in the area. Along with these lessons, Ms. Bunch shared powerful stories about the land’s history. The team was able to see the value of using this experience to build engaging STEM activities, lessons, and units.  The retreat gave these extraordinary leaders a chance to reflect on the 2017-2018 school year while planning for the 2018-2019 school year.  The retreat ended with a STEM challenge, a special assignment, and a commitment to STEMulating Rex Mill’s culture of high performance.
